Bible Phoenix is a project that is now a little over a year in the making. It first came to mind back in the late days of 2022, when I realized that my growing Bible and Christian resource collection was probably becoming unjustifiable.
Since I had no desire to stop collecting it occurred to me that I could use my resources to bolster my fellow believers.
Why Me?
I am a member of the Church of the Nazarene, a part of the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. I grew up in a culture focused on Christian essentials–the classic creeds we all share–and less worried about distinctives.
As a layman from a tradition where inquiry is encouraged, I’ve learned that everyone has reasons for believing what they believe. Even where I disagree with others, I feel that I have the ability to present their work’s merits as well as my concerns with it.
I’ve also grown frustrated with the sheer cost of acquiring a library of solid Christian resources, which can be prohibitive for laypeople. Since I’ve spent a pretty good chunk of money on resources, I want to digest and pass on what I’ve learned.
The Mission
My mission can be summed up by 1 Thessalonians 5:14-18.
My goal with Bible Phoenix is to be a positive voice for Christian believers of all stripes, providing resources and assistance to those struggling in our times.
With an irenic and charitable approach, I want to give assistance and support for both believers and seekers looking to grow in their faith.
